Automated headshot processing and S3 integration
Processing thousands of speaker headshots manually per conference branding requirements (desaturated, cropped, uploaded to a CDN) required hours of manual work. And with speakers not only adding, but also updating their headshots, there was untold room for error.
Automated processing system which handled batch desaturation, cropping via an interface, uploading, and listing the newly uploaded file's links in the production database.
Reduced headshot processing time from hours to minutes, ensured consistent styling, and eliminated any errors.
React app using Canvas API for image processing, Digital Ocean Spaces for uploads, and Airtable API for asset tracking.
Production team was able to focus on other tasks, and headshots on platform were never incorrect or missing.
